FisherFolkFirst App

Connecting Turks & Caicos Islands’ fishers directly to buyers.

Adding value, quality, and ‘stories’ to seafood.

Buyers get fresh, high-quality, sustainably caught seafood. Fishers gain access to a new market, unlocking opportunities.

Inclusive + Accessible Design

The app uses voice prompts in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole

so that it can be used by any fisher, regardless of digital literacy or reading and writing ability.

Democratizing Fisheries

Small-scale fishers gain direct access to different types of buyers, eliminating the need to rely on middle-persons.

Improving Sustainable Livelihoods

The app drives higher incomes for sustainable fishers by allowing them to set prices and connect directly with the market demand.

Create Connection through Stories

Fishers share their unique stories and fishing practices, giving consumers in the marketplace and at hotels or restaurants a deeper understanding of sustainable fishing.

Built with Fisherfolk

Fishers are involved in every step of the development process.

We are running a beta in Providenciales and South Caicos this summer to gather feedback and learn more.
